Most institutions are running their management like the golden crown for education. SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur is one of those. T. R. Parivendhar founded the Sri Ramaswamy Memorial Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) in 1985 in Kattankulathur, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on a 250-acre campus. It has four campuses: three in Chennai (Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, and Vadapalani) and one in the National Capital Region (NCR). It was declared as a deemed university by the MHRD and the UGC in 2002, and it was declared as SRM Institute of Science and Technology by the government of India notifications that declared deemed university can be called a university in 2006, but it remained SRM Institute of Science and Technology by the Government of India instruction.
