A public university called Jamia Millia Islamia was founded in 1920 by the Foundation Committee in the United Province (Uttar Pradesh), however, it was shifted to its present campus in New Delhi in 1925 due to cries. The University Grants Commission (UGC) approves the institution and declared it a deemed university by a special Act of Parliament in 1988, and it is accredited as an “A++” university. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Government of India ranked JMI at position 10 in architecture, 33 in engineering, 7 in law, 36 in management, 30 in research, 20 in dentistry, 6 in universities, and 13 in the overall category. By working and interacting with several international educational institutions through joint research, joint conferences, student exchange, and faculty exchange programs, the university continuously improves the level of instruction and research. The university contains 38 teaching and research departments, 27 centers for learning and research, and 9 faculties of studies. The institution offers academics, staff, and students updated, modern facilities.
