ICT Mumbai Overview
The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) is a state-funded deemed university in Mumbai, India.
The institute also has campuses in BHU Odisha, Odisha, and Jalna, Marathwada. It is focused on training and research in the fields of chemical engineering, chemical technology, and pharmaceuticals.
On February 12, 2018, it was given the status of a Category 1 institute with graded autonomy by MHRD and UGC. It is also an institute with a very special status, as mentioned in Section IV of the Report of the Empowered Expert Committee in 2018.
The Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai (ICT Mumbai), previously known as the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT), was established in 1933 with the support of multiple industries. In the most recent 2021 rankings, ICT Mumbai was ranked 5th in the NIRF Pharmacy Category and 155th in the QS Asia University Rankings.
The institution is spacious, spanning over 16 acres of land, and has been ranked 18th in the overall engineering category by NIRF standings.
The college holds about 211 undergraduates, 385 postgraduates, and 120 PG-integrated students.
The institute has quickly uplifted to a premier institute over the decades and currently offers UG courses like B. Chem. Eng., B.Tech. (seven disciplines), and B.Pharma. and PG courses like M. Chem. Engg., M.Tech., ME, M.Pharma., and M.Sc. in 21 different specializations. ICT Mumbai also offers Ph.D. courses to students in various disciplines.
Admission to the B.Tech program is strictly offered based on the merits obtained by the candidates in the JEE Main or MHT-CET entrance exam, and the JEE Main cutoff for admission is 737–2,784, while the MHT-CET cutoff is 125–158.
