Sri Siva Subramaniya Nadar College of Engineering was established in 1996 by Padma Bhushan Dr. Shiv Nadar, Founder and Chairman of HCL Technologies. The institution was named after the chairman’s father, Sri Siva Subramanya Nadar. The college was initiated as an affiliate of Anna University at Thoraipakkam temporarily. The Sri Siva Subramaniya College of Engineering is approved by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In 2018, it developed 230 acres of campus at Kalavakkam on Rajiv Gandhi salai.
