The Ritnand Balved Education Foundation developed Amity University on March 24, 2005, under the Amity University Uttar Pradesh Act, 2005 (Act 11 of 2005) of the UP Vidhan Sabha. It was the first private institution in India to establish student reservations and merit-based scholarships.
