IIITM Madhya Pradesh Overview
Gwalior (ABV-IIITM) is a higher education institute in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is also known as the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior (IIITM Gwalior). Established in 1997 and named for Atal Bihari Vajpayee, it was recognized as an Institute of National Importance.
The full form of IIITM Gwalior is Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior. It is located in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
The Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, was established in the year 1997. The foundation stone of the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management’s foundation was laid in the beautiful city of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. The sole purpose of this institute was to provide research, higher education, and consultancy in the areas that concern business management as well as information technology. To respect the Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee of that time, the institute’s name was prefixed with ABV in 2002, which made the name ABV IIITM,Gwalior. A total of 99 faculty members and 1099 students are enrolled at the institute.
IIITM Gwalior has been designated as an Institute of National Importance. In the NIRF Engineering Ranking 2021, the college has secured the 106th rank, whereas it has secured the 58th rank in the NIRF Ranking 2021 for the management category. The institute is accredited by NAAC and is an autonomous institute registered under the Societies Registration Act. It is funded by the Government of India and, looking at the efforts of the Indian government in setting up the institute, the Madhya Pradesh government allotted land of 160 acres to the central government on Morena Road near the Gwalior Fort for it. Currently, about 15 courses are offered by the institute at the graduation, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
The IIITM Gwalior campus is spread across an area of 160 acres with a faculty strength of 42 and a student enrollment of 860 in total.
The IIITM Gwalior currently holds 74 undergraduates within the institution as well as admits 50 postgraduates and 119 PG integrated candidates pursuing the course for the academic year 2022.
