IIT Gandhinagar Overview
The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (also known as IIT Gandhinagar and IITGN) was established in 2008.
It is a public autonomous institute of higher education, declared to be an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India.
IIT Gandhinagar is one of the eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in the year 2008.

The Institute began to operate on a temporary campus at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chandkheda, mentored by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
The first batch of students were admitted to chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering.
The institution’s UG admission stood at a rate of 225, wherein the PG admissions corresponded to 60 on the whole.
