IITBHU Varanasi Overview
The Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi (IIT BHU) is a public technical university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Founded in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College, it became the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, in 1968. It was designated as an Indian Institute of Technology in 2012. IIT (BHU) Varanasi has 16 departments, 3 interdisciplinary schools, and 1 Humanities & Social Sciences Section. It is located inside the Banaras Hindu University Campus.
The institute has been ranked 16th in the NIRF ranking data among the other IIT institutions. The campus has 313 acres of land space in total, making it a massive, gigantic structure that allows its students to enjoy various amenities within the campus, as they do not need to seek their basic and necessary requirements anywhere else outside the campus, as all of the necessary facilities are provided within the campus, and going forward, we will discuss that in the latter part of this blog.
