IIT Kanpur Overview
The Indian Institution of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, was established in 1959 and its first engineering batch was started in 1960. This institute is a fourth sibling of the ‘Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)’ family. Professor P.K. Kelkar took charge of this institution and IITK is the first institute in the country to introduce a science-based engineering curriculum at the undergraduate level.
